After their first single, released two years ago, was sold out almost immediately, the boys from Bremen now deliver their second stroke and it turns out that all the praising in advance was entitled. Their new tracks bear a lot of strength. They present gloomy and noisy orchestral post-hardcore, whose heavy and destructive walls alternate with Ebullition-like emo-parts and broad guitar feedbacks, ever changing dynamics and passionate vocals. A post-hc ending, dark and driving. Next to bands as Angstzustand, Yage and Eaves, they certainly are one of the most impressive bands in this genre round here. In addition to the rather sombre and melancholic atmosphere the vocals change from passionate screaming to spoken words, while lyrics have been written in German and English again. Refined by a good and appealing production, the six songs leave an impression of honesty and dedication. jet black sind jetzt geschichte. schade. mit ihrer wütenden, manchmal recht verzweifelt klingenden und bisweilen durchaus vertrackten mischung aus emocore und punk haben sie in den letzten jahren sicher eine bereicherung für die szene dargestellt. hier gibt es zum abschied jetzt nochmal sechs songs in heftigem, extrem druckvollem sound und in ebenso liebevoller wie aufwendiger verpackung außerdem. weißes vinyl, klappcover mit allen lyrics und dazu noch vier photo- und textblätter extra, die unter anderem eine sehr persönliche band-history und zwei gedichte enthalten. die einzelnen stücke sind musikalisch gewohnt komplex und spannungsgeladen, der oft ins schreien übergehende gesang ist brilliant und die texte sind zwar bisweilen sehr bitter, dabei aber auch teilweise richtig schön: "... wir verrichten gefühlsarbeit auf niedriglohnniveau, mit diesen leeren händen schulden wir uns nichts als scham. we war fake and fake and feel no more." Gibt ne glatt 1 und ich würde jetzt wirklich gerne schreiben: "weiter so", um ihnen dann noch als gar nicht böse gemeinte forderung/anregung ein "vielleicht auch mal etwas konkreter politisch werden??" mit auf den weg zu geben, aber all das erübrigt sich jetzt ja eh. wie gesagt: schade. sehr schade. heavy, intensely rocking and screamy emo-hardcore with a dark edge to it! comparable to other german bands like YAGE or ANGSTZUSTAND, with lyrics in german and english. the LP comes as a limited edition on white vinyl, luxuriously styling and packed into a gatefold-cover, therefore way more expensive than the digipak-CD! 04/06 (x-mist)
